My family wants to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at home — every single day!
With school, work, church activities, sports and the other demands of life, when do I find time to cook?
Some of us grew up on good home cooking, others of us wish we had. We all know that eating homemade and local foods is healthier than grabbing fast food or prepackaged meals from the grocery store, but in our current culture eating homemade may seem nearly impossible.
If you are seeking recipes, tips and tricks to bring healthy meals to the table even when you’re busy, you have come to the right place.
Today, I’m sharing one of my family’s favorite snacks — we call them Healthy Cookies.
Yes, we call them “healthy” even though they’re made with sugar, molasses and butter. Again, I prefer feeding my family foods made with simple, wholesome ingredients and these healthy cookies are the perfect alternative to preservative laden, prepackaged mystery meals.
I love to make up a large batch ahead of time and keep them in the freezer.
On a night when we run from school to ballet to football or whatever the case may be, we can grab a Healthy Cookie and a bag of carrots and celery (we chopped on Saturday) and it’s supper on the run.
Kids love them because they taste good. Dad loves them because they are filling and a quick grab. Mom loves them because they are healthy and easy to make!
